Sarajevo performance probes poetry after historic tragedies
The performance "Ima li poezije nakon…?" was staged in the amphitheater of the International Center for Games, Culture, Art and Youth (ICIKUM) in Sarajevo. It was directed by Luka Vlaho with dramaturgy by Nedžma Čizmo, and the poetry was interpreted by Mona Muratović and Emir Fejzić, accompanied on flute by Ana Tica and costumed by Irma Saje.
The piece examined how poetry and language respond to major historical catastrophes, referencing the Srebrenica genocide, the siege of Sarajevo, the Jablanica floods, femicide and the war in Gaza. It was presented as part of the "Kvart stih" program with support from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, inviting the audience to consider whether poetry can still give meaning after such tragedies.
