Sarajevo representatives criticize Sebija Izetbegović over hospital comments

Sarajevo Canton Assembly representatives Belma Kapo and Jelena Pekić have criticized Sebija Izetbegović for her comments regarding the Day Hospital for painless gynecological interventions at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS).

Kapo and Pekić condemned Izetbegović’s description of the facility as an ‘abortion clinic,’ calling the remark shameful, irresponsible, and dehumanizing. They noted that the hospital provides essential care for women undergoing various gynecological procedures, including those facing pregnancy loss. The representatives emphasized that the facility was established to ensure patients receive adequate anesthesia and professional care during medical interventions to mitigate physical and psychological trauma.
