Sarajevo to host fourth Security Conference with NATO and US officials

The fourth Sarajevo Security Conference is scheduled to take place in Sarajevo from September 4 to 6, 2026. Organized by the Washington-based New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy, the event is considered one of the most significant geopolitical and security gatherings in the Western Balkans.

The conference theme, ‘Security of Europe in a Divided World,’ will address critical issues including the European security architecture, transatlantic relations, cybersecurity, hybrid threats, cognitive warfare, energy security, and the role of artificial intelligence in defense. The program aims to provide a platform for dialogue regarding current geopolitical crises and their impact on Europe and the international order.

Key speakers include US Congressmen Marc Veasey and Greg Murphy from the US Helsinki Commission, as well as Dame Karen Pierce, the UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans. Other notable participants include Ambassador Hossam Zaki, former Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, former Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab, and Hamza Almustapha, a special advisor to the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs. The event is supported by NATO, the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and several international embassies.
