Saranda Imeri questions hiring of Nora Taravari at University of Tetova

VLEN Deputy Saranda Imeri Stafai has raised questions regarding the employment of Nora Taravari, the wife of Arben Taravari, head of the State Commission for Relations with the Albanian Population in North Macedonia, at the University of Tetova.

Imeri Stafai cited a formal complaint from another candidate published in the university’s official bulletin. The complainant, who reportedly holds a 9.44 grade point average across three study cycles, 22 years of professional experience, and over 21 scientific publications, contested the selection process.

The Deputy also questioned the composition of the reviewing commission, alleging that it may have violated Article 173 of the Law on Higher Education, which requires two members to be from the relevant field of political science. Additionally, Imeri Stafai noted that Nora Taravari is expected to complete her studies in June 2026 and lacks prior university experience, criticizing the commission’s report for failing to provide convincing reasons for her selection over more experienced candidates.
