Sarasota wildlife and service dog training events

Two dolphins performed a series of leaps near the shore at Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida, drawing significant attention from beachgoers. The event was captured on video by onlookers and shared by meteorologist Matt Devitt, who described the display as “Florida’s nature at its finest!”

In a separate local event in Sarasota, eleven dogs from the nonprofit Dogs Inc. visited Mote Aquarium for specialized training. The group, consisting of six future guide dogs and five puppies, practiced navigating obstacles and maintaining impulse control amidst the distractions of an aquarium environment, including proximity to penguins, manatees, and sharks. The training aims to prepare the dogs for real-world service tasks while helping aquarium staff and animals acclimate to the presence of working dogs.
