Saratoga Race Course concludes expanded summer season

The Saratoga summer racing season concluded with significant milestones for both individual athletes and the New York Racing Association (NYRA). In horse racing, the two-year-old colt The Good Life secured a dominant four-length victory in the $300,000 Grade 1 Spendthrift Farm Hopeful Stakes. Trained by Brad Cox and ridden by Manny Franco, the horse won in gate-to-wire fashion, marking his second career win.

Simultaneously, NYRA concluded a unique three-year era of expanded summer meets at Saratoga. Due to the reconstruction of Belmont Park, the venue hosted the Belmont Stakes from 2024 to 2026. This extended season featured 50 days of racing and a total handle of $1,105,339,004, including the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. The meet saw a paid attendance of 1,149,677, marking the 11th consecutive year that Saratoga attendance exceeded one million patrons.
