Saravalia priest Charalampos Oikonomou passes away after 52 years of service

Priest Charalampos Oikonomou has passed away, leaving a legacy of 52 years of service to the Church and the community of Saravalia, near Patra. He served as the parish priest at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Saravalia.

Throughout his decades of ministry, Oikonomou was a central figure in local social and educational life, including participating in community events at the Saravalia Gymnasium. He is survived by a large family, including seven children, seven daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, and 21 grandchildren.

The Chamber of Achaia expressed its condolences to his son, municipal councilor Philippos Oikonomou, and the entire family. The funeral service is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Saravalia.
