Sarawak Agrofest 2026 opens in Bintulu to promote agrifood innovation

The Sarawak Agrofest 2026 (SAF2026) has officially opened at the Old Bintulu Airport, running from September 25 to October 4. The sixth edition of the expo is themed ‘Innovating Agriculture for Food Security’ and aims to showcase the transformation of Sarawak’s agrifood sector through digitalization, automation, and smart technology.

Officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, the event brings together government agencies, entrepreneurs, and industry players. The expo targets 800,000 visitors and aims to generate approximately RM6.5 million in sales value. With 201 participants, the event features various specialized zones, including AgroTech, AgroTrade, fisheries, livestock, and smart agriculture.

The expo aligns with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, focusing on shifting from conventional farming to high-tech agriculture. Participating agencies, such as the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department, are utilizing the platform to demonstrate aquaculture technology and connect government services with local businesses and communities.
