Sarawak awards posthumous honors to five FDS helicopter crash victims

Five personnel from the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) have been awarded the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) posthumously. The honors recognize their service following a helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, on September 8.

The recipients are Alexon Adit Henry, Debra Moset, Dr. Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, Jessie Paya Jok, and Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham. The awards were conferred in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of the Sarawak Governor, Tun Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

The FDS provides critical medical transport and healthcare access to remote interior communities in Sarawak where geographical barriers make road travel difficult. The posthumous recognition highlights the contributions of these frontline workers in maintaining essential medical services for isolated populations.
