Sarawak government to fund medical education for daughter of deceased nurse

The Sarawak government has pledged to fully fund the education of Euodia, the daughter of the late nurse Debra Moset, until she completes her medical studies. This commitment follows the fatal helicopter crash involving the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) in Long Lellang, Baram.

Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, stated that the state will also provide similar educational assistance to the children of other victims involved in the tragedy. He emphasized that while the loss of a parent cannot be compensated with money, the government remains committed to the welfare of the affected families.

The tragedy has prompted the Sarawak government to seek alternative methods for delivering healthcare services to rural and remote areas to prevent similar incidents. Euodia has expressed her determination to become a doctor to honor her mother's legacy and sacrifice.
