Sarawak Governor attends Sarawak Zone Ijtimak 2026 closing

The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, attended the closing ceremony of the Sarawak Zone Ijtimak 2026 in Kuching on Sunday. The three-day event, which ran from October 2 to October 4, was held at Surau Darul Muttaqin on Jalan Depo Link.

The gathering brought together approximately 6,000 devotees from various regions to participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, tazkirah, congregational prayers, and programs aimed at fostering brotherhood. During the ceremony, the Governor listened to a Bayan Hidayat delivered by Tuan Haji Abdullah Chong, the Amir Syura of Jemaah Dakwah Malaysia. The address focused on the importance of strengthening faith, enhancing acts of worship, advancing da’wah efforts, and fulfilling the responsibilities of Muslims in daily life.

The event served as a platform to deepen the understanding of Islamic teachings, encourage moral formation, and strengthen ties of kinship among the Muslim community in the region.
