Sarawak implements AI action plan and digital investment platform

The Sarawak government is developing SelectSarawak, an integrated digital platform designed to enhance transparency, coordination, and efficiency in the state's investment processes. The platform will manage the entire investment lifecycle, from initial inquiries and project assessments to licensing and implementation monitoring.

To support this digital shift, the Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre (SAIC) is advancing an AI Action Plan focused on five pillars: government transformation, technology, talent development, governance, and the AI economy. A key initiative, the Sarawak AI Grid, aims to extend technological benefits to urban, suburban, and rural areas by 2030, including supporting agricultural activities in areas with limited internet access.

Additionally, Sarawak is establishing a Quantum-Safe Centre in collaboration with IBM to protect digital assets and critical infrastructure against future quantum-based cyber threats. Local businesses, such as PC Image, are also working to integrate AI solutions to improve productivity and operational efficiency within the state's ecosystem.
