Sarawak partners with International Anti-Corruption Academy
The Sarawak government is collaborating with the Vienna-based International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) to strengthen integrity and accountability within its public service. Through this partnership, 70 Certified Integrity Officers (CeIOs) in Sarawak will participate in the Sarawak Regional Governance Leadership Programme 2026.
The four-day program, scheduled for November 2 to 5 at the Pullman Kuching, features content adapted from IACA’s Regional Summer Academy to suit the specific needs of Sarawak’s public service. Key focus areas include international cooperation and integrity, innovation in corruption prevention, ethical leadership, and corruption reporting.
Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), stated that the initiative aims to equip officers with the professional standards and confidence required to address non-compliance and institutional weaknesses. The collaboration involves the Sarawak Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNIONS) and the Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE). Additionally, UNIONS and IACA intend to sign a memorandum of understanding to establish long-term cooperation in capacity building and professional development.
