Sarawak Premier honors Governor Wan Junaidi’s service and MA63 contributions

During an interfaith thanksgiving ceremony celebrating the 80th birthday of Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg highlighted the Governor's significant contributions to the state and nation.

Abang Johari noted Wan Junaidi’s historical role in opposing communist threats while serving in the Jungle Police Force within the Rajang Security Area (RASCOM). Additionally, the Premier emphasized Wan Junaidi’s vital work in strengthening the Federal Constitution regarding the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) during his tenure as a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

The Premier described Wan Junaidi’s diverse career—spanning security forces, law, politics, and national administration—as a source of wisdom and a unifying force for the multi-ethnic population of Sarawak.
