Sarawak Premier meets Mukah community leaders for unity dinner

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg met with community leaders, village chiefs, and residents during a unity dinner in the Mukah Division on October 2, 2026. The gathering, held at a local resort, served as an informal platform for the state leadership to interact with the grassroots community and reinforce connections between the government and local residents.

During the event, the Premier responded to a metaphoric message from the Iban community, where he was referred to as a ‘knowledgeable and wise farmer.’ Embracing the title of ‘Ketua Kebun’ (farm leader), Abang Johari pledged to ‘take care of the farm,’ emphasizing the importance of proper management and hard work in development. The meeting highlighted themes of unity and cooperation as the state continues to pursue its development priorities.
