Sarawak prioritizes education investment to drive 2030 economic goals
The Sarawak government is prioritizing continuous investment in education to develop a highly skilled and innovative workforce. This strategy is central to the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), which aims to transform the region into a prosperous, inclusive, and high-income state by 2030.
Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Dato Sri Dr Roland Sagah Wee Inn emphasized that economic growth and technological advancement require a workforce capable of navigating rapid change. He described education as a strategic investment in human capital rather than just a means for individual academic achievement.
In support of these goals, the PETRONAS Education Sponsorship – Memperkasakan Ilmu Sarawak initiative provides qualified students with access to quality education. Additionally, Tanjong Manis Member of Parliament Dato Ir Yusuf Abd Wahab highlighted that strengthening the education sector is a shared responsibility essential for the state’s long-term development and global competitiveness.
