Sarawak strengthens regional tourism ties at EATOF assembly

Sarawak is working to strengthen regional tourism partnerships and expand international market access through its participation in the 19th General Assembly of the East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Federation (EATOF). The biennial assembly is being held at the Mactan Expo in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines.

Led by Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the Sarawak delegation is engaging in bilateral meetings with representatives from Gangwon Province (Republic of Korea), Cebu Province (Philippines), Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam), and Tuv Province (Mongolia). These discussions focus on areas such as tourism marketing, ecotourism, air connectivity, and digital marketing.

The assembly aims to provide a platform for tourism leaders and stakeholders across East and Southeast Asia to exchange strategies, strengthen cultural ties, and pursue sustainable growth that benefits local communities.
