Sarawak has demonstrated significant strength in robotics, securing 10 overall National Robotics Competition (NRC) titles between 2014 and 2025. In the most recent NRC, the region saw 256 participating teams, ranking third in Malaysia for overall participation. Recent international successes include SMK Chung Hua (CF) Miri and SJK(C) Chung Hua Krokop, both of which will represent Malaysia at the WRO Final in Puerto Rico this December.

Additionally, the Sibu-based startup NEX EcoVentures was named the winner of the Startup World Cup Malaysia 2026 for the East Zone, qualifying to compete in the global finals in San Francisco.
