Saray State Hospital performs first total knee replacement surgeries
Saray State Hospital has successfully performed its first total knee replacement surgeries. The procedures were conducted on two patients suffering from advanced knee osteoarthritis, joint surface damage, severe pain, and restricted movement.
Led by Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Dr. Mehmet Ali Filiz, the surgeries involved removing damaged knee joint surfaces and replacing them with artificial joint components. The operations were carried out under spinal anesthesia through the coordinated efforts of the Orthopedics and Traumatology, Anesthesia and Reanimation, and Operating Room teams.
The goal of these surgeries is to reduce pain and improve joint function for patients who have not found sufficient relief through medication or physical therapy. Following the procedures, patients will undergo tailored physical therapy and rehabilitation programs to restore mobility and improve their quality of life.
