Sardar 2 faces box office failure and critical backlash

The film Sardar 2, a sequel starring Karthi and directed by PS Mithran, has faced significant commercial failure and critical backlash following its release on September 10th. Despite high expectations following the success of the original film, the sequel has struggled at the box office due to poor word of mouth, a lengthy runtime, and issues with writing and execution.

Produced on a massive budget, the film is reportedly heading toward a major financial loss for its makers. While Karthi’s performance and certain action sequences received some praise, the film has failed to maintain momentum. In addition to the box office decline, director PS Mithran has faced intense social media criticism for his overconfident promotional speeches, which many viewers have highlighted in light of the film’s poor reception.
