Sardar 2 to stream on Amazon Prime Video on October 1

The Tamil spy thriller ‘Sardar 2’, starring Karthi in a dual role, is scheduled to begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 1, 2026. The film will be available in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Directed by P. S. Mithran, the film follows the story of veteran officer Chandra Bose and his son, Inspector Vijay Prakash, as they attempt to stop an international group of mercenaries from activating a deadly biochemical weapon known as ‘Doku’. The plot also incorporates social themes regarding antibiotic overuse and bacterial resistance.

Following its theatrical release on September 10, the film experienced a poor reception from both critics and audiences, resulting in a low box office performance. The early transition to streaming platforms, occurring just 21 days after its cinema debut, follows the film’s underwhelming theatrical run.
