Sardinia allocates 3.8 million euros for 2026 New Year events
The Sardinia Region has approved 3.835 million euros to fund New Year 2026 celebrations across various municipalities. The initiative, proposed by Tourism, Trade, and Craft Assessor Franco Cuccureddu, aims to promote the island as a winter tourism destination and boost economic activity in hospitality and services.
The funding is divided into two distinct categories based on event scale and safety requirements. The first category, Cartellone 2.1, provides 2.556 million euros for large-scale projects expecting at least 10,000 attendees. The second category, Cartellone 2.2, allocates 1.279 million euros for events with a minimum expected attendance of 3,000 people.
Municipalities can apply for grants covering up to 50 percent of eligible expenses. To qualify, projects must feature live performances held between December 27 and December 31. The regional government also plans a broader promotional campaign titled “Notte di San Silvestro 2026/Capodanno in Sardegna” to increase the national visibility of these festivities.
