Sardinia approves 241 million euros for disability and elderly care
The Sardinia Regional Council has approved a social policy programming plan to support elderly and disabled individuals facing non-self-sufficiency. The initiative will utilize a total of over 241.9 million euros through 2028.
The funding combines 94.6 million euros in national resources for the 2025-2027 period with 147.3 million euros in regional co-financing for 2026-2028. Specifically, the national fund will allocate 30.4 million euros to Sardinia in 2025, 29.4 million in 2026, and 34.8 million in 2027.
Regional President Alessandra Todde stated that the goal is to provide stability and a personalized approach to care, strengthening local services and supporting home-based living whenever possible. The resources are earmarked for programs such as ‘Ritornare a casa Plus’, independent living interventions, and increasing staff at Single Access Points (PUA) to ensure integrated care pathways.
