Sardinia implements digital transformation and AI strategy

The Sardinia Region is implementing a comprehensive digital transformation program designed to reduce the challenges of insularity by improving access to health, transport, and economic development services. The strategy includes the establishment of a Regional Digital Hub, a data strategy, a digital twin of Sardinia, and one of the first regional laws in Italy dedicated to artificial intelligence.

Sebastiano Cocco, Regional Assessor, emphasized the importance of digital sovereignty to protect public information against cyber threats. Oracle is currently supporting the region in developing this digital ecosystem.

In a broader context of Italian public administration modernization, companies like NV Group are facilitating the adoption of national platforms. These include PagoPA for secure payments, the National Digital Data Platform (PDND) for information sharing, and SEND for legal notifications, helping local entities simplify procedures and improve citizen services.
