Sardinia to host major cultural heritage events in October
Sardinia will host several cultural heritage events throughout October, highlighting the island's archaeological, artistic, and medieval history.
The Monumenti Aperti initiative returns to the island from October 10 to 12. This event features 85 monuments and five itineraries across various locations, including Arzachena, Chiaramonti, Mogoro, Ozieri, Quartu Sant’Elena, and Tortolì. The program aims to showcase the region's archaeological and identity-rich heritage through guided tours and special events.
Simultaneously, the Giornate del Romanico will showcase 75 churches and monuments across 70 towns in Sardinia. The program focuses on the island's medieval architectural heritage, with specific highlights in the Oristano province. Scheduled visits include the Basilica of Santa Maria in Bonarcado, San Palmerio in Ghilarza, and the Basilica of Santa Giusta, among others, spanning throughout the month of October.
