Sardinian municipalities launch water supply project for villages

Municipalities in Sardinia have agreed on a joint project to deliver potable water to the hamlets along state road 125, affecting hundreds of families. The alliance, led by the town of Sinnai and joined by Quartucciù and Maracalagonis, outlined a five‑stage plan covering the formation of a common operational team, detailed project design, publication of tenders, route surveys, and a final conference with regional authorities to secure approvals. Mayor Barbara Pusceddu of Sinnai and Mayor Pietro Pisu of Quartucciù emphasised the legal and technical robustness of the scheme, stating that thorough preparation will prevent future delays and provide a modern, reliable water infrastructure. The project aims to bring essential water services to the villages of Sant’Isidoro and San Gaetano, among others, after prolonged local demand.

The municipalities pledged transparency and a commitment to completing the work efficiently, signalling a coordinated effort to address longstanding water access issues in the region.
