Sardis Ancient City hosts astrophotography event at Temple of Artemis

Astrophotography sessions were recently conducted at the Sardis Ancient City, located in the Salihli district of Manisa. The project focused on capturing the visual intersection of archaeology and astronomy by photographing the Temple of Artemis alongside celestial phenomena.

Using wide-angle lenses and long-exposure techniques, photographers captured the Milky Way Galaxy positioned behind the temple's ancient columns. The sessions also included star trail studies centered on Polaris and recorded several meteors passing through the frame.

In addition to still photography, timelapse videos were produced to document the movement of the stars over the historical structures. The Gymnasium area, illuminated as part of night museum activities, also served as a site for visual documentation.
