Sardoal municipality manages housing and childcare funding shifts

The Sardoal municipality in Santarém is restructuring several local infrastructure projects following administrative and deadline challenges. The municipal council plans to relaunch a 3.1 million euro tender for the construction of 16 affordable housing units within the next two weeks. This relaunch follows a procedural revocation caused by an administrative error regarding the publication of a deadline extension in the Diário da República.

Separately, the municipality has lost its Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) funding for a new municipal daycare center because construction was not completed by the July deadline. After returning a 54,000 euro advance, the council has applied for alternative community funding through the Center Regional Coordination and Development Commission, seeking an 85% reimbursement rate for the project, which exceeds one million euros.
