Sarıgöl grape producer discovers 5.5 kg giant grape cluster

A massive grape cluster weighing 5.5 kilograms and measuring approximately 40-45 centimeters in length was discovered in the vineyard of producer Necati Coşkun in the Sarıgöl district of Manisa.

Coşkun encountered the oversized cluster while preparing his grapes for drying. While the discovery drew significant attention, the producer noted that grape farmers are facing economic difficulties. He stated that the prices for fresh grapes, currently ranging from 20 to 30 lira per kilogram, are not meeting expectations, and production costs remain very high.

In the Sarıgöl region, nine different varieties of grapes, including Sultaniye, are grown across 113,000 decares of land. Farmers often use protective covers to keep high-quality table grapes fresh on the vine until the beginning of the new year.
