Sarh initiates community surveys to guide local development

The municipality of Sarh in southern Chad has launched an initiative to better understand the needs of its population to guide future development projects. On October 2, 2026, a five-day training workshop began at the town hall to prepare 18 investigators for field consultations.

Organized in partnership with the Bureau of Expertise in Water, Sanitation, Development, and Social Engineering (BEEADIS), the training covers data collection and processing techniques. The investigators, representing various neighborhoods and districts, will conduct household surveys and community group discussions.

According to Dr. Nadji Dakor, Director General of BEEADIS, the goal is to gather precise information on local realities. The surveys will focus on critical sectors including health, access to potable water, sanitation, environmental protection, waste management, and socioeconomic conditions. The resulting data will help the municipality identify priority sectors for intervention.
