Saritha Komatireddy closes gap with Letitia James in NY AG race

A new poll conducted by OnMessage Inc shows Republican challenger Saritha Komatireddy narrowing the gap against incumbent Democratic Attorney General Letitia James. The poll of 1,000 likely voters places James at 51% and Komatireddy at 45%, with 4% of respondents undecided.

Following a recent debate, Komatireddy reported receiving 81% support among viewers compared to 19% for James. Komatireddy has called for additional televised debates to allow voters outside of New York City to hear from both candidates. Despite the polling shift, betting markets such as Kalshi still predict a James victory with 91% certainty.

During a recent rally, Komatireddy was joined by crime victims and their families who criticized the current administration's approach to criminal justice. Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor, proposed establishing a ‘Victims Advisory Council’ within the Attorney General’s office to provide families with a direct line of communication to the office.
