Saritha Komatireddy outlines New York AG platform and narrows poll gap

Republican candidate for New York Attorney General Saritha Komatireddy has outlined her policy priorities for her first hundred days in office. During an online event moderated by Bill Ackman, the former federal prosecutor proposed closing state-funded supervised drug injection sites and redirecting opioid settlement funds toward residential treatment facilities. She also pledged to audit homeless shelter nonprofits for fraud to ensure safety and prevent crime.

Recent internal polling conducted by OnMessage Inc. for the Komatireddy campaign indicates the race is tightening. The survey shows incumbent Letitia James leading by six percentage points, with 50.7% to Komatireddy’s 44.7%. The poll suggests Komatireddy gained significant momentum following an October 8 debate, where she reportedly led 81% to 19% among viewers. While James maintains a strong advantage in New York City, Komatireddy leads among independents, men, and voters in Long Island and upstate regions.
