Sarıkamış natural sites promote tourism in Kars
The Sarıkamış district in Kars is emerging as a significant destination for nature and seasonal tourism. Keklik Deresi, located among pine forests, has become a popular spot for visitors seeking to escape urban life through hiking and photography.
Additionally, Asboğa Gölü, situated at an altitude of 2,000 meters, is being positioned as a potential new tourism hub. The lake serves as a vital habitat for various bird species, including mallard ducks, herons, and seagulls. Oktay Yavlal, President of the Sarıkamış Development Foundation, described the lake as a "miniature of Lake Çıldır" and suggested it be designated as a national park to enhance both summer and winter tourism in the region.
