Stonebwoy names Sarkodie and Shatta Wale in social media feud

Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy has publicly identified rappers Sarkodie and Shatta Wale as the targets of his recent social media comments regarding ‘convenient friendships.’ In a TikTok Live session, Stonebwoy clarified that his May 2026 post, which accused unnamed individuals of faking friendships for mutual interest, was directed at the two stars.

The dispute has escalated into a public exchange on X (formerly Twitter) concerning industry principles and personal conduct. Stonebwoy challenged Sarkodie’s views on toxic fan culture and industry behavior, alleging that Sarkodie previously suggested artists must ‘play along’ with certain behaviors for their own benefit. Sarkodie has rejected this interpretation, stating he never suggested artists should act without principle and questioning why Stonebwoy has linked his posts to him.

Further tensions have emerged regarding past interactions. Stonebwoy alleged that he was treated ‘inhumanely’ and kept backstage during an event in 2020, and claimed that Sarkodie previously posted a video that felt like a subtle jab at Stonebwoy’s physical health. The artists continue to trade statements regarding loyalty, professional ethics, and their personal history within the Ghanaian music scene.
