Sarmiento Line resumes regular service after infrastructure upgrades
The Sarmiento railway line has returned to its regular service frequencies following extensive maintenance work conducted over a long weekend. According to Trenes Argentinos, the interventions focused on improving operational safety through upgrades to signaling systems, tracks, stations, and general railway infrastructure.
A major component of the project was the complete renewal of the Haedo signaling control desk, which had been in operation for over 40 years. This upgrade completes the modernization of signaling equipment at three strategic points on the line, following previous works in Castelar and Moreno. The Haedo control desk is vital for rail circulation, as it manages four tracks, connects to the locomotive depot exit, and serves as a link to the San Martín and Roca railway lines.
Other works included track renewals at Once station, platform restorations in Ramos Mejía and Morón, and civil works in the Castelar signaling cabin and Ciudadela. Additionally, track layouts were restored in San Antonio de Padua, and improvements were made to underpasses and the Castelar substation electrical system. Signaling renewal continues between Liniers and Villa Luro.
