Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League NOJHL Grow and Gather event food giveaway community charity

In Northern Ontario, several community and sporting events took place recently. In the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners secured a 4-3 overtime victory against the Iroquois Falls Storm following a goal by Tysen Andersen. Separately, the Powassan Voodoos staged a comeback victory, scoring six goals in the third period to defeat the Blind River Beavers 7-5.

In Norfolk, the Grow and Gather event at the Simcoe Fairgrounds provided over 200,000 pounds of fresh produce and dry goods to community members. The giveaway was supported by 22 local farms and included items such as peppers, onions, squash, and apples.

Additionally, the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie is hosting an information session regarding its Youth Exchange Program at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre. The program allows students to spend an academic year studying abroad.
