Sarno region leaders address administrative security and river remediation

Local authorities and political representatives in the Sarno region are addressing administrative and environmental challenges. In Sarno, representatives from Fratelli d’Italia met with the Extraordinary Commission to discuss restoring administrative efficiency and improving public safety. Key concerns raised included urban decorum, inadequate street lighting in peripheral and central areas, and the need for a population census.

Simultaneously, mayors from the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area are pushing for urgent action regarding the Sarno River. Pasquale Aliberti, the Mayor of Scafati, has called for a dedicated regional council session to address the river's environmental and hydraulic issues. Local leaders are seeking clarity on the implementation and timeline for approximately 420 million euros in allocated funds intended for dredging and remediation projects, emphasizing that responsibility for these long-standing issues lies with the Campania Region.
