Saros FSRU Terminal expansion approved in Sazlıdere

The Edirne Governor's Office has issued a positive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) decision for the “Black Part Area Increase Project” at the Saros FSRU Terminal in Sazlıdere, Keşan.

Managed by BOTAŞ, the project involves utilizing approximately 8,275 square meters of land. The expansion plans include the construction of maintenance workshops, 30 accommodation rooms, a dining hall, administrative buildings, security and camera monitoring units, material warehouses, training and meeting halls, a prayer room, and a clinic.

The Saros FSRU facility currently operates by receiving Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) via sea tankers. The gas is temporarily stored in the tanks of a floating storage and regasification vessel, which has a capacity of 150,000 m³ of LNG. Once regasified, the natural gas is transferred to the national grid through a 17-kilometer onshore pipeline.
