Sartell Baseball Team Advances to Minnesota State Tournament

Sartell High School defeated Cold Spring 3–1 in the sub‑state #11 American Legion baseball final, earning a spot in the 19U Division I state tournament. Coach Pete Johnson praised the team's performance but noted the need for offensive improvement.

The team, now 19‑4, will begin pool play in New Ulm on Thursday at 10 a.m. against the host team, followed by a 12:30 p.m. game versus St. Louis Park and a Friday 10 a.m. matchup with St. Michael. Pitching leaders Brady Thompson, Nolan Hemker and Landon Fish have each posted ERAs below 2.00 this season. Johnson highlighted that many players also juggle basketball and football responsibilities.

The tournament runs through August 2, with games in New Ulm, Springfield and Sleepy Eye. Sartell is guaranteed three games and can advance to bracket play by finishing in the top two of its pool.
