Global mining firms report significant resource and processing milestones
Several mining companies have reported significant exploration and operational milestones.
Aureka Limited has identified high-grade gold outside its existing resource boundary at the Irvine gold project in Victoria, Australia. Drilling revealed new mineralisation in a previously untested two-kilometre gap between the Resolution and Adventure lodes, including a core grading 16.1g/t gold.
In Kazakhstan, Sarytogan Graphite reported a major milestone in downstream processing. Testwork on a 24-tonne bulk sample produced battery-grade coated spherical purified graphite with a 97.7 per cent yield and a purity exceeding 99.99 per cent. Additionally, the company extended copper mineralisation at its Ilksan prospect with a 318-metre intersection.
In Western Australia, Forrestania Resources secured an agreement with MEGA Resources to purchase and process up to two million tonnes of ore over 24 months. This supports Forrestania’s strategy to utilize its Lake Johnston and Edna May processing hubs. Separately, McLaren Minerals reported high-grade titanium-bearing sands at its McLaren project, with drill intercepts reaching 24 metres at 7.54 per cent heavy minerals.
