Sarzana and Pisa begin urgent water‑pipe repairs, close streets in early July

From 1 July, the municipality of Sarzana will start restoration of a collapsed rain‑water conduit beneath Via Bertoloni. The work, assigned to Ceragioli Costruzioni srl for €61,058, includes dismantling the pavement, reinforcing the vaulted ceiling and preserving any historic structures uncovered. Local police will enforce a vehicular ban on the last section of Via Torrione Stella Nord and Via Torrione Genovese until the site is secured; work in Piazza Luni is postponed until after summer.

Meanwhile, Pisa’s city council has ordered urgent repairs to the sewage pipe serving a military barracks. Conducted by the Naval Engineering Directorate of Livorno, the operation will affect Via Bigattiera Lato Mare between the barracks and Camping St. Michael from 8:00 a.m. on 1 July until the work is completed, but no later than 18:00 on 3 July. Traffic will initially run one‑way under a temporary traffic light system, followed by a full closure of the lane, while access for residents, emergency services and property owners is maintained.
