SAS to relaunch Copenhagen-Mumbai nonstop route in 2026

SAS has announced the relaunch of a nonstop, year-round route between Copenhagen and Mumbai, scheduled to begin on October 1, 2026. This marks the airline’s return to the Indian market after a 17-year absence.

The service will operate five times per week using a three-class Airbus A330-300. The aircraft configuration includes 32 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats, and 178 Economy Class seats. Flights from Copenhagen are scheduled to depart at 16:30, arriving in Mumbai at 04:30 the following day, while the return leg departs Mumbai at 06:30.

Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, described the route as a strategic milestone that connects Scandinavia with a major global economic hub. The new service is intended to strengthen Copenhagen Airport’s position as an international gateway, providing connections to other SAS destinations such as New York, Boston, and Toronto. Tickets are currently available for booking through standard channels.
