Sasha Pastujov signs one-year contract with Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have signed winger Sasha Pastujov to a one-year, two-way contract. The 23-year-old was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks earlier this month in a trade involving Sean Farrell.

Pastujov, a former 2021 third-round pick, has yet to make his NHL debut but has shown strong offensive production in the American Hockey League (AHL). During the previous season with the San Diego Gulls, he recorded 21 goals and 36 assists in 71 games. Over his first three professional seasons, he has accumulated 48 goals and 77 assists in 160 contests.

As he is now waiver-eligible, Pastujov will likely compete for a roster spot during training camp. While he may be assigned to the Laval Rocket to start the season, his recent scoring trends make him a potential candidate for a call-up during the 2026-27 season.
