Sasi shareholders' assembly requested by 26 municipalities over water crisis
Twenty-six municipalities in the Abruzzo region have requested an extraordinary assembly of Sasi shareholders to address a persistent water shortage. The initiative, led by Tollo Mayor Angelo Radica, represents approximately 36 percent of Sasi's total share capital.
The water emergency, which began in June, has caused significant service inefficiencies. While recent improvements in supply have been noted, local leaders state that service has not yet returned to normal continuity. The requesting municipalities include Tollo, Ortona, Lanciano, Vasto, and several others.
Citing Article 2367 of the Civil Code, the municipalities are seeking to understand whether the crisis is caused by structural or situational factors. They are demanding concrete short-term solutions and have requested that the assembly be convened no later than August 28. The group of signatories is politically diverse, consisting of 14 center-right and 12 center-left municipalities.
