Saskatchewan infrastructure projects trigger highway and city roadwork

Saskatchewan is undergoing various highway and urban road improvement projects. Highways Minister Kim Gartner highlighted several provincial initiatives, including a $27.2 million project to rebuild 17 km of Highway 2 between Wakaw and Cudworth, expected to be completed by the end of 2027. Other provincial works include a $2.7 million paving project on Highway 2 north of Wakaw and culvert replacements on Highway 312.

In Saskatoon, several road closures and detours are in effect for maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. Upcoming works include paving on Meadows Parkway and Market Drive, signal maintenance on Cumberland Avenue, and streetlight replacement on Circle Drive. Additionally, construction for two new Link bus stations is scheduled to begin on Preston Avenue, while Melville Street will face a significant closure starting the week of August 10 for sanitary sewer infrastructure installation.
