Saskatchewan MLA Kevin Weedmark denies using public funds for private flights

Saskatchewan Party MLA Kevin Weedmark is facing scrutiny from the NDP over allegations regarding the use of private flights for government-related travel. The controversy arose following deleted social media videos that appeared to show Weedmark traveling via chartered aircraft to attend events in Lloydminster, Saskatoon, and Regina.

Weedmark has denied using public funds, asserting that he paid for the flights out of his own pocket because driving across the province would have been impractical. He characterized the NDP’s accusations as a “blatant lie” and a smear attempt.

The NDP, led by deputy house leader and health critic Meara Conway, has questioned the credibility of Weedmark’s claims and is pressing for the release of receipts to prove the flights were personally funded. The opposition is also investigating a June 2025 flight involving a jet with a registration number linked to the social media footage.
