Saskatchewan RCMP arrests man for stealing truck from good Samaritan

A 25‑year‑old man from Onion Lake was arrested by the Saskatchewan RCMP after he allegedly stole a truck that a passer‑by had stopped to help following a single‑vehicle rollover on Highway 17 near Sandy Beach.

Police say the driver fled south, later abandoned the vehicle at a business in Onion Lake, assaulted a person there, and was taken into custody. He now faces charges including robbery, motor‑vehicle theft, assault on a peace officer, impaired driving, driving while prohibited, aggravated assault, dangerous driving and flight from a peace officer. He appeared in a Lloydminster courtroom.
