Saskatchewan Roughriders gear up for Week 9 showdown with Edmonton Elks

The Saskatchewan Roughriders enter Week 9 with running back AJ Ouellette sidelined and top receiver Samuel Emilus listed as questionable for the Saturday night game at Commonwealth Stadium against the Edmonton Elks. Ouellette has rushed for 288 yards this season, while Emilus has recorded 31 catches for 448 yards and five touchdowns.

In the previous meeting, the Roughriders were held to 66 rushing yards and fell 36‑34 after Elks quarterback Cody Fajardo threw for 510 passing yards. Defensive lineman Caleb Sanders said the team is refining its run defense and overall technique ahead of the rematch. Backup tailback Quali Conley is expected to see an expanded role, and the receiving corps of Kian Schaffer‑Baker and Kee Sean Johnson remains available.

The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and on CFL+ for international viewers.
