Saskatchewan Roughriders manage injuries ahead of Toronto Argonauts matchup

Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Mace said running back A.J. Ouellette remains a question mark after leaving the third quarter of the 40‑37 win over Calgary with a suspected concussion. “It’s still trending. I gave him a day today and we’ll see how it feels tomorrow,” Mace told the media, adding that the team will roll with Ouellette if he is cleared.

In Ouellette’s absence, veteran Thomas Bertrand‑Hudon and rookie Quali Conley have been taking reps, while defensive back James Burgess Jr., who was cut in camp, re‑signed and practiced on Tuesday. “I’m ready whenever,” Burgess said after flying in from Birmingham and joining the squad that morning.

Other players on the injury list include defensive back Juju Hughes (lower‑body), wide receiver KeeSean Johnson (knee) and Dhel Duncan‑Busby (shoulder). The Roughriders will travel to face the Toronto Argonauts on Friday, with the pre‑game show set to begin at 5 p.m. local time.
