Saskatoon hosts 44th annual Rock 102 Show & Shine car show

The 44th annual Rock 102 Show & Shine has returned to downtown Saskatoon, showcasing hundreds of classic and custom vehicles across 14 city blocks. The free event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, serves as the finale to a weekend of automotive festivities.

In previous years, the event has attracted more than 30,000 spectators. To accommodate the crowds and vehicles, portions of the downtown core are closed to traffic, with road closures beginning early in the morning between First and Fourth avenues and from 20th to 23rd streets.

Participants include groups such as the Draggins Car Club. Shane Arthur of the club noted that nostalgia plays a significant role in the popularity of vintage cars, as enthusiasts often purchase vehicles they dreamed of owning in their youth.
